For Campers
Camper Poll
We polled campers in Summer 2007 about their top 10 reasons to attend Mountain Day Camp, and here is what they said (we'll add a new reason each month!)
#3: Exploring Nature & rock Climbing!
#2: You get to select activities that are different every day, like: Fishing, Building Animal Houses, Games, Arts & Crafts, Cabin Group vs. Wild
#1: You get to be outside so its more fun!
So what do we do at camp...? You can learn about it one of three ways:
We start our day with camp songs and a suncreen party, we even sing a sunscreen song! We have special claps for after songs and that are fun and more exciting than regular clapping.
Cabin Groups create their own GORP (or Good Old Raisins and Peanuts, a.k.a. trail mix). The group works together to write the recipe, then mixes the GORP with whatever materials the counselor gives you an shares it with the rest of camp.
At Mountain Day Camp, you get to help choose what your Cabin Group does for portions of each day--you could go fishing, make lanyards and friendship bracelets, practice a skit, or go hiking (or any of the other great activities Mountain Day Camp offers)!
